Workshops and Quiet Days

I regularly lead a number of different workshops and quiet days. These vary from 90 minute workshops, to a full day programme, filled with a mix of art, creativity and spirituality. As well as leading these locally, I am able to provide these for your community or church, tailoring them to your needs. If you would like a quiet day or workshop on a specific theme, I would be glad to talk to you about what might be possible.

4 different examples of hand drawn celtic art on top of each other. A celtic knot, a triune celtic knot painted green, a three stranded cord, and some interweaving spirals painted in shades of green and blue.

3 hour Creative Spirituality Workshops

Two handmade finger labyrinths. One of string on a board in the Cretan pattern, painted yellow in the centre, blending to orange and then red outwards. The other is The Man in the Maze pattern on white board, with deep red texture medium.

These 3 hour workshops combine creativity and spirituality, enabling both prayer and making something. They are ideal for quiet mornings (or afternoons) or as part of a larger event. The workshops I offer include:

  • Creative Prayer Workshop

This workshop gives you a taste of three different forms of creative prayer, using paper and pens or paint. Come willing to have a go and you might discover a new way to be with God.

  • Finger Labyrinth Workshop

Experience the calming nature of a finger labyrinth, and different ways of using it in prayer. You will also make your own finger labyrinth, so that you can continue to practice this way of prayer when you go home.

These workshops are suitable for all, no experience is necessary. I provide all the equipment and guidance, and suggest a maximum group number of 15. I ask you to provide refreshments for the group as these workshops include a coffee break.

I ask for £150 plus travel to provide these workshops.

Quiet Days

The words 'deep calls to deep' in white on a ombre background, light blue at the top to dark blue at the bottom in watercolour.

These quiet days provide space and time for individual prayer, along with spiritual input and creative exercises. A typical day would be from 10am - 4pm, with lunch and coffee breaks included.

  • Creative Prayer Day

Discover different forms of creative prayer, with plenty of time to explore each one. No artistic skill is required, just the willingness to play, pray and see what happens.

  • Journeying with God Day

Take time out to look back on your journey with God, and to consider the onward journey too. There will be the opportunity to walk a labyrinth along with plenty of time for guided reflection. This is a day to pause, be still and find food for your soul.

  • Praying with Labyrinths Day

Labyrinths have been a part of the Christian tradition since the 9th century. This quiet day will give you the opportunity to walk a labyrinth as well as make a finger labyrinth. With plenty of time for prayer and reflection, this is a gentle and slow paced day to enable you to discover the tradition of praying with labyrinths.

These quiet days are suitable for all, and I provide all the equipment and guidance. I ask that hosts are able to offer refreshments for coffee breaks. Lunch can be either provided by the hosts or participants can be asked to bring their own. I’d suggest a maximum group of 20 people.

I ask for £300 plus travel to provide each quiet day.
