I long for you God
This psalm has been one of my favourites for a very long time. I love the description of longing for God - of panting and thirsting. I found this writing inspired by Psalm 42 in my prayer journal from back in 2014:
“My soul longs to soak in you God. I am dry, like a dry sponge or a withered plant, and I need your living water, your love. My greatest need, my desire is to know your love for me. Thank you for this time when I can soak in your presence. I have been giving out Lord, serving, and I’m dry, I’m all out. Rather than use up my emergency supplies, I am coming to you. Fill me with your living water till I am overflowing once again. I remember your goodness, and so whatever happens this week I will put my hope in you.”
For this bible journal page, I have sought to represent the dryness and thirst, and the quenching waters. I’ve used distress inks at the bottom of the page to represent desert sand, and then watercolour paint for the water. One of the challenges of watercolour paint on the thin pages of the bible journal is that they can wrinkle like the have done here.
