Womb

Red, pink and lilac curved lines painted in a circular shape.

This painting came as a surprise to me. I painted it whilst on retreat a couple of years ago. I had no plan of what I wanted to paint, and just began with prayer and three colours. I picked up my brush and went with the flow. As I painted this womb emerged, full of energy waiting to be birthed. I instantly loved the piece and what it represented to me, even though really it was just a moment of playing with paint.

I began to ask myself what was this energy inside of me that was waiting to be birthed. I am a person who enjoys starting new things, and often have new ideas waiting for the right moment to be put into action. For me, these ideas have a real sense of energy and excitement behind them, but only when it is the right time to implement them.

I wonder if you can relate to this painting too. Do you have something within you, an energy, an idea perhaps, that is waiting for you to take action, to bring it to life?

The original piece is on paper and available to buy here. But I loved it so much I then recreated it on canvas board (available to buy here), and it is also one of the Food for the Soul postcards.
